Welcome to the M3 Plans page

In July 2023, we managed to buy some old blueprints from eBay. These contained four pages showing the proposed route of the M3 motorway. The pages just showed the Dummer to Farnborough section of the M3, including Basingstoke. As is usual for old documents, there is no actual publishing date on them. However, I can make a guess that these plans were from the mid 1960s.

I have tried to take the best pictures I can of these, but there are a few issues with them. Firstly the plans are very long, so I had to use a wide-angle lens to get all the picture in. Unfortunately my lens seems to exhibit some quite egregious barrel distortion. I also forgot to put a diffuser on one of my lights, so there are hot spots, on the right hand side. I put the plans on two giant white boards, as they were too wide to just fit on one. This has meant you can see a visible line down the middle of each picture. Despite these issue, there should be enough resolution to display all the information.
