Composite Map of Basingstoke

Below is the 25 inch Ordnance Survey map, from 1932. This was taken in several sections, from the NLS website, then stitched together. I have overlaid it with a toner of the modern road system, taken from the stamen website. Note that this map is about 30MB, so this may take some time to download and display, especially if you have a slow connection. Also note that some older browsers or mobile devices may not be able to load the map. The map is about A0 in size, or 13137x11180 pixels (147 MP), so it should contain more than enough detail that you can zoom in if needed, but be aware that zooming may take additional time to download and render. The map area covers the rough area of the modern ring road. I used the 1932 map as it seemed to be the best midpoint from the distant past to the present day. I previously split this map into 6 sections, to make things quicker to download, but this just created confusion. Click on the image below to load the map.
